The Exhibition of Bonsai at Meiji Jingu(明治神宮で奉納盆栽水石展)

Bonsai at Meiji Jingu in Tokyo, Japan

The other day, I happened to see a beautiful bonsai exhibition at the main shrine area of Meiji Jingu!
It was the annual “Hōnō Bonsai Suiseki Exhibition”, held every June for more than 20 years.

Most of them were around 200 to 300 years old, simply breathtaking! 👏

Such an incredibly beautiful art which was made possible by many hands over generations.

The Suiseki stones were another highlight!
Suiseki is a traditional Japanese art of appreciating natural stones by seeing landscapes, waterfalls, mountains, or even human figures within them.

Can you believe this is a natural pattern!?

I was deeply moved by the passions of people behind the Bonsai and Suiseki stones 🥹
